F@H EULA Violation
Removal Tools
This page contains links to a number of useful third party removal
tools, created by various folding community members that will determine if your system has
been affected by one of the illegal installers and remove it if so. Or, provide you with manual
instructions to determine, and uninstall, if you have been compromised.
Although the programs that were used to install
Folding@Home are not conventional
"Trojan Horses" in the sense of the word, still we need to call a spade
a spade. We do, however, need to make it clear that the Folding@Home program,
and files, are not harmful in anyway, and were just being used against
the EULA of the software and Stanford's
licensing policies.
Since most of the illegal installers pop up on p2p file sharing networks(It is imperitive that
you identify which file was the installer and notify
Folding Community Forums of its
presence and where you got it.) We advise that you be VERY careful of files downloaded off
of P2P networks or through email.
We apologize that some in the folding community have taken such
stupid actions. We do not condone, and are outraged by this behavior, and
hope these files will help repair any issues caused.
Finally, these Removal Tools are third party apps/instructions. Stanford is in no way responsible,
nor gives any warranty on anything that may result from the use of these tools/instructions.
So use at your own risk.
